We are dedicated to harnessing the cultural relevance of Hip-Hop music to serve as a catalyst for education, advocacy, and other societal concerns fundamental to the empowerment of youth.

Founded by Russell Simmons and Dr Benjamin Chavis in 2001, HSAN is the
largest, worldwide, non profit 501c(4), non-partisan coalition of hip-hop
artists and entertainment industry executives united in the belief that
hip-hop is an instrumental agent for positive social change.

HSAN’s programs (Rock the Vote, Get Your Money Right, and Get Your House
Right, for example) directly benefit and impact millions of youth, young
adults and urban professionals 18 – 45 years old throughout the world:

ROCK THE VOTE!
HSAN leveraged its relationship with hip-hop celebrities and entertainment
icons via the Hip-Hop Team Vote, Respect My Vote, and Rock the Vote
initiatives to procure the largest youth voter turn-out in American history.

GET YOUR MONEY RIGHT!
Since 2005, HSAN has educated millions of young adults and urban
professionals about the importance of building wealth credit, budgeting,
investing, and homeownership via its Hip Hop Summits on Financial
Empowerment.

GET YOUR HOUSE RIGHT!
In 2008, HSAN launched Get Your House Right in light of the foreclosure
crisis, to help Americans acquire and keep their homes safely and securely.

To date, HSAN has successfully produced over 70 hip-hop summits in the
United States, Canada, and South Africa.
