Sixth Annual Youth Holiday Party, December 12, 2005Held for the second time at New York City's Irving Plaza and sponsored by Target, this after-school party celebrated the creative energy of more than 500 young people who are affiliated with Rush Philanthropic supported arts programs. Hosted by Simmons brothers, Russell, Danny, Rev. Run, and MTV VJ Sway youth groups had the opportunity to showcase their talents through dance, spoken word, theater, musical performance, and an on-site art gallery. Every young person received a special Holiday Party gift bag and raffle prizewinners took home items ranging from Apple iPods, Sony Play Station, XBox, Target gift cards, Jet Blue travel vouchers, and limited edition New Era caps! This special youth initiative venture called for youth artists to creative portraits in honor of Nelson Mandela. The children's art was displayed at Rockefeller Center along with the first-ever personally "sat for" portrait and sketches of the honorable Nelson Mandela painted by renowned British portrait artist, Harold Riley.
